JXTX + JJ Fund GCC 2026 Scholarships

The JXTX Foundation and the JJ Fund announce the 2026 GCC Scholarship program. This program will support outstanding graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to attend the Galaxy Community Conference 2026 in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

JXTX Scholarships

JXTX scholarships will be awarded in two tiers:

• The first tier will be awarded to one individual and will cover conference registration plus transportation to and from the conference (up to US$1,500).
• The second tier will be awarded to two individuals and will cover conference registration only.

JJ Fund Travel Fellowships

• Two fellowships will be awarded to graduate students or postdoctoral researchers to attend GCC 2026.
• Each fellowship will cover up to $1,200 in reasonable travel expenses.

Key Dates

• Application deadline: March 15, 2026
• Winners announced: March 31, 2026

Application Process

Apply using the form below. The application will ask about:

• Your scientific interests
• Your interest in the Galaxy platform
• Why you are interested in attending GCC 2026

This application is used for JXTX scholarships, JJ Fund fellowships, and Galaxy Community scholarships. All applicants will be considered for each award they are eligible for.

Review Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on:

• Quality of application - should articulate a solid reasoning for why they want to attend a Galaxy conference and learn more about the platform and community
• Early career stage - students and post-docs are preferred over staff and faculty
• New to Galaxy - applicants who are new to the Galaxy community and eager to learn more are favored
• Diversity - applicants from underrepresented groups and applicants from the University of Minnesota or other upper Midwestern schools are particularly encouraged to apply

Anyone in the early stages of their career can apply and will be considered. Awards will go to applicants with the overall strongest applications.
